Oppo R5 available for pre-order in the UK, priced better than Oppomart order
Oppo R5 – the almost thinnest phone in the world can now be ordered in the UK for £296.99, or $452. Sold through Amazon, the R5 will be officially available on February the 20th, but can currently be pre-ordered, and early birds will get a VOOC Flash Charge power bank as a bonus – basically, a portable charger that should charge up the R5's battery to 75% in just 30 minutes, while holding enough juice for at least 2 more such charge-ups.
The handset has been available for purchase on the international site Oppomart.com for a while now, for $549, so the special UK launch will definitely be beneficial to anyone who might be interested in the super-slim handset.
The Oppo R5 is armed with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615, clocked at 1.5 GHz, and paired with 2 GB of RAM. The device's performance is solid, albeit a smidgen slow-ish, and its looks are definitely head-turning, but that slim profile comes at the expense of battery life and standard headphone jack.
