OnePlus Switch update finally adds backup app data support

OnePlus Switch update finally adds backup app data support
OnePlus Switch started as a pre-installed app on the OnePlus smartphones but made the transition to standalone app some months ago. As more and more people switched to OnePlus smartphones, the Chinese company has decided to make the switch easier by adding support for more Android phones.

Besides migrating contacts, text messages, photos, and other data from your previous phone to a OnePlus handset, the Switch app now comes with support for backup application data, something that people have requested since the app went standalone.

But that's not all, as OnePlus announced more Android smartphones are compatible with OnePlus Switch. Also, you'll now be able to transfer your wallpapers and app layout from OnePlus smartphone to a new one, but that will only work with the OnePlus launcher.

Last but not least, the latest update adds support for manual connection to mobile hotspots. Make sure to check out the list of compatible Android phones on the OnePlus forum if you want to switch to a new OnePlus phone.

That's great. I recall my GF upgraded from the S6 Edge to the Note 8 and she got everything back including the wallpaper she was using on her previous phone. This backup feature is a relief because it saves too much setup time on the new phone
