Being the flagship touchscreen enabled BlackBerry smartphone in the US definitely has its perks when it comes to software upgrades. Although the BlackBerry Bold 9800 is expected to take things to a new direction, Verizon's BlackBerry Storm2 9550 is still getting some treatment in the form of OS 5.0.0.713 that's now available for download. Owners will have to check out Verizon's web site to grab the download seeing that the over-the-air- process hasn't kicked on just yet. From the looks of it, the update includes “numerous enhancements and improvements” which undoubtedly continues to fine tune the overall experience. Now that the handset has been available on the market for almost 8 months now, it's refreshing to continue seeing some support for the handset as it inches closer to that one year mark where we would naturally hope to hear some news regarding a successor.
