Nokia unveils a new range of entry-level phones

Nokia has introduced three new mobile phones from its lineup of easy-to-use and affordable devices targeting first time users, at the Nokia Experience Mobility 2006 event in Chongqing, China. The three new devices - Nokia 2610, Nokia 1112 and Nokia 2310 – are expected to be available in the second quarter of this year.

 

Nokia 2610: a candybar device with ergonomic design and a rubberized finish for an improved grip. It will be available in two versions – GSM (850/1900) for the Americas and GSM (900/1800) for Europe and Asia. The main features are:

  • 65k color display
  • WAP browser.
  • E-mail support
  • Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging
  • SMS/MMS/IM support
  • Voice recorder
  • Built-in speakerphone


Nokia 1112: a handy-sized, easy-to-carry device with large easy-to-use keys, which also will be available in GSM (850/1900) version for the Americas and GSM (900/1800) version fro Europe and Asia. It features:
  • 96 x 68 pixel white backlit monochrome display
  • 20-chord polyphonic and MP3-grade rintones
  • SMS and picture messaging support
  • Speaking alarm and clock
  • Built-in speakerphone


Nokia 2310: a compact-designed device, oriented to music lovers. It will be available only in GSM (900/1800) version, which means that it won't be seen in the US.
  • 65k CSTN color display
  • FM radio with sound visualization graphics and dedicated key
  • Polyphonic and MP3-grade rintones
  • SMS and picture messaging support
