Nokia introduces new high-end GSM phone - 8801

Nokia has unveiled a new high-end mobile cameraphone – 8801. The new device has slim slide design and exclusive audio accompaniment, including all ring tones and alerts, composed by the award-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Nokia designers employed modern watch-making and jewelry techniques. The front display is made of specially reinforced glass, which is used in luxury timepieces and provides added toughness and scratch-resistance. Nokia 8801 is expected to be available in select markets in the third quarter of 2005. The main features of the tri-band GSM phone are:

  • 260k color TFT display

  • built-in SVGA camera with video capture

  • Bluetooth

  • GPRS/EDGE high-speed data

  • 64 MB internal memory

  • WAP 2.0 Internet browser

  • Java MIDP 2.0 support

  • SMS/MMS/IM

  • MP3/AAC player

  • built-in Speakerphone

 

 

Nokia 8800 has been introduced in Melbourne, Australia and Marrakech, Morocco. It shares the same premium design details and features, but is designed expressly for the Asia/Europe market.
