Nokia introduces 3 new GSM phones

Nokia unveils three new GSM handsets at the 3GSM World Congress  in Cannes, France.

 

6680 – It is a 900/1800/1900 GSM plus WCDMA, based on Series 60 smartphone and is expected to be available in March 2005. The main features of the phone are:

  • 262k LCD display

  • GPRS/EDGE high-speed data

  • two integrated cameras - VGA camera (640 x 480 pixels) at the front and a 1.3 megapixel camera with a slide for camera activation and control

  • two-way video calling

  • HTML browser

 

Nokia 6680

 

 

 




 

6682/6681 – 6682 is a tri-band 850/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS EDGE model for the Americas, while the 6681 is a 900/1800/1900 version of the same phone. Both are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2005. It features:

  • 262k LCD display

  • 1.3 megapixel camera with LED flash and active slide cover

  • MMC memory expansion slot

  • Push-to-talk functionality

  • Full Internet browser

  • Music player

6101 – It is a clamshell-designed phone with two tri-band versions, a 850/1800/1900 version for the Americas and a 900/1800/1900 version, both of which are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2005. The 6101 is also Nokia's first phone to be offered in carrier-exclusive design variants, starting with the 6102 for China Mobile. The main features of the device are:

  • dual color displays

  • built-in VGA (640x480) camera

  • Push-to-talk functionality

  • Xpress audio messaging
