The wait is almost over, folks! Windows Phone 7.8 is to start rolling out really soon, and the Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T is expected to be the first smartphone to get it. According to a leaked internal email, the new software will reach the handset tomorrow – January 30, and will be available for download through a computer running Zune. The update files are roughly 100MB in size, so it probably won't take painstakingly long for them to download and install.

For those who need a refresher, the Windows Phone 7.8 update will bring a revamped home screen to the Nokia Lumia 900 along with a broader selection of theme colors. Another neat interface tweak is the ability to set a Bing image of the day as the lock screen wallpaper. And speaking of lock screens, the protection against accidental swipes and screen unlocks has been strengthened in WP7.8. The list of improvements, of course, does not end here, but we'll let you explore the rest of the platform's new features upon the update's arrival on the Nokia Lumia 900 and other Windows Phone handsets.

So all of you AT&T Lumia 900 owners, get ready to update your device tomorrow! While you wait, feel free to watch the video below, in which Windows Phone 7.8 gets previewed running on a Lumia 900.
