Navmii launches free US iDevice navigation app with offline map data
A new navigation app for the iPhone/iPad is available in the North American App Store and it promises a few goodies like voiced navigation, 1.6GB of offline map data and tightly-integrated social functions. And the best thing last - on top of all these perks, it's available for free.
It integrates a few handy features like Google location search with voice directions and navigation to points of interest and friends. You can also share your position via SMS, Twitter, Facebook and email, which comes in handy when you are in an unknown megalopolis. However, this free app's biggest perk seems to be... its navigational capabilities. The reason for this is because you don't need to rely on a wireless connection to use it, since all maps are stored on your iDevice and this pro is usually reserved for paid-only navigation apps.

Furthermore, all jealous Androiders and European owners of iDevices don't have to be so jealous as NavFree "is coming soon" for them. It's important to note that this app is a little bit like Wikipedia, meaning you are encouraged to edit and update maps for better overall experience, so NavFree is sure to get better with time.
