Motorola is working on a pair of Snapdragon 808 & 810-powered QHD smartphones for Verizon
If these leaks are anything to judge by, then Motorola has not one, but two seriously tricked-out smartphones in the works for US carrier Verizon! Published by serial Moto leakster AndroidLeaks over at Reddit, the leaked material describes Moto "Clark" and Moto "Kinzie".

Clark is powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset and has a Quad-HD resolution screen with a screen DPI value of 560, which amounts to a probable size of 5.2 inches by diagonal - same as on the 2014 Moto DROID Turbo. This handset also has XT as part of its model number, which means its either part of the DROID lineup, or the Moto X lineup. Interesting!

Kinzie, though, is one fiery lady that runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and has a Quad-HD resolution display with a DPI value of 640, which roughly amounts to a 4.6-inch size by diagonal. Better take this rumor with an ample grain of salt, though, because stuffing so many pixels into such a compact screen sounds quite unrealistic, even by 2015 standards!

Both devices run Android 5.1.1, the latest version of Lollipop. Unfortunately, we haven't been clued in about their eventual appearance. But if you're a fan of Motorola's, you've definitely got something to look forward to!

The sentence after reads: "Better take this rumor with an ample grain of salt, though, because stuffing so many pixels into such a compact screen sounds quite unrealistic, even by 2015 standards!." This makes me believe they don't really believe it.

The QHD screen on anything under 6" is a gimmick and I don't care what anyone says. And here we go again, Motorola with their Verizon exclusives, being stupid. They really don't care about sales of their devices.

Of course Motorola releases the only devices worth owning on Verizon while everyone else gets the leftovers like the midrange Moto X.

Well Verizon is the largest carrier in the U.S. By a substantial margin.

Verizon pays Lucasfilm Ltd. an undisclosed sum for the rights to use this word, DROID, as a brand name. The Moto phones do get released for other carriers, but at a later date, when they become somewhat old(er) compared to what else can be had at the time. It does suck for Moto to be pushing them out this way.

I just can't see Verizon paying them enough to butcher their marketshare like they have.

Yes, exactly. I can understand a month delay, but this cripples sales of Moto phones. The Droid Turbo is a prime example of an amazing device which a lot more people would've bought if it wasn't a Verizon exclusive.

I agree 100%. They should have a bigger roll out. I don't know how long the original contract was for, because the Droid line came when the iPhone was still exclusive to AT&T. What ever they agreed to back in 2009.
