Motorola schedules October 9 announcement; One Macro expected
Motorola has confirmed (via GSMArena) it’ll be announcing a new phone in India on Wednesday, October 9, and the official teasers suggest it’ll be the Motorola One Macro which has leaked extensively over the course of the past week.

The One Macro will reportedly be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P60 which is often considered a Snapdragon 660 competitor. As standard, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage should be included but 3/32GB and 4/64GB versions are apparently on the way too.

Giving the phone its name should be a 2-megapixel macro camera which Motorola itself has teased. The Chicago-based company says users will soon be able to “magnify details” on everything “nature has to offer.” This will accompany a main 13-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for decent portrait shots in addition to an LED flash and a new laser autofocus system which Motorola teases will “focus on your subject in a fraction of a second.”

The size of the smartphone’s display is yet to be confirmed but leaked images have revealed the presence of a notched panel paired with a rather huge chin that could probably house a physical home button. Motorola, however, isn’t interested in these buttons anymore, hence the decision to embed the fingerprint scanner beneath the rear logo.

Other Motorola One Macro features should include 4G LTE connectivity, a USB-C port, and the company’s flavor of Android 9 Pie rather than the stock alternative. Motorola itself has teased the 4,000mAH battery that’s rumored by claiming the device will offer “uninterrupted use on a single charge” and support for “rapid charging.”
