MetroPCS adds Alcatel One Touch Fierce and Alcatel One Touch Evolve to its lineup
Pre-paid carrier MetroPCS announced today that it was adding a couple of Alcatel Android flavored handsets to its lineup. The pair, the Alcatel One Touch Evolve and the Alcatel One Touch Fierce, already launched for T-Mobile customers last month. T-Mobile, as most of you know, owns MetroPCS. Of the two, the One Touch Fierce is the more interesting device.

The Alcatel One Touch Fierce is priced at $99 for the whole kit and kaboodle. It is equipped with a 4.5 inch screen with resolution of 540 x 960 (qHD) with a quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek processor on board. 1GB of RAM is inside and of the 4GB of native storage, 2.4GB is available to the user. Thankfully, there is a 32GB capacity microSD slot on the device. The camera on back is 5MP while a .3MP snapper graces the front of the phone, which is powered by an 1800mAh battery. Android 4.2.2 is installed out of the box.

MetroPCS is touting the Alcatel One Touch Evolve as being the perfect handset for the new smartphone user who is, ahem, evolving from a feature phone user and is priced accordingly at $59. Sporting a 4 inch 480 x 800 resolution panel, this model offers pony power under the hood in the form of a single core 1GHz MediaTek CPU. 512MB of RAM comes with the device, along with 4GB of native storage. A microSD slot in available for users and the only shooter on the phone is the 5MP one on back. Android 4.1 is installed on the unit out of the box.

Both devices will work with MetroPCS' pre-paid unlimited plan that starts at $40 a month.
