Maemo gets Mozilla Firefox RC3
Always looking towards the next level of web browsing on mobile handsets, Mozilla announced today the release of the third Firefox Release Candidate for Maemo. The release greets Nokia N810 and N900 owners with a couple of bug fixes and contains a few performance improvements. RC2 was a nice improvement, but it still had its fair share of usability bugs and performance issues that were addressed with RC3 – it manages to improve page load times and responsiveness while zooming and panning got even better. One thing worth noting about RC3 is that plug-in support has been disabled for a good reason; although you can still enable it. For example, the Adobe Flash plug-in used on many sites degraded the overall performance of the browser – to the point that it didn’t meet their standards. Other than that, you can test out Firefox RC3 and experience all the web browsing goodness it has to offer.
