Look at how humungous the Apple iPad Pro/Plus could turn out to be
It is one thing to look at in print, and another thing to actually see in pictures. What we are talking about is the rumored 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro/Plus. Apple has apparently come to the conclusion that it needs to fill a space in its tablet line-up for a larger-screened slate aimed at the business and educational markets. The brass in Cupertino might have come to this realization after watching the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 take off.

Last week, we showed you some cases allegedly produced for the iPad Pro/Plus that were obtained by Sonny Dickson. One of these cases was measured by a German blog at being 307mm x 222mm. That is important because speculation last month had the actual tablet weighing in at 305.7mm x 222.6mm x 7.2mm. So it seems like a pretty good bet that this case was made for Apple's upcoming large-screened slate.

So now that we are making the assumption that this particular accessory is being produced for a 12.9-inch iPad, how would such a device look in comparison with Apple's current flagship tablet? Pictures taken by French blog NWE compare the 9.7-inch Apple iPad Air 2 with the case for the iPad Pro/Plus allowing us to see just how humungous the latter tablet will be.

Other leaks have revealed that the tablet will feature a quad-speaker system and a second port on the side of the slate that could be for a USB-C connector. The Apple iPad Pro/Plus should be unveiled some time later this year.

Ask the stock market, hospitals, schools, colleges, pro sports leagues, and major retail and hotel chains that question after it launches. Whining little teenage fanboys on PA, won't get it.

it will flop to big schools don't use apple because they cant put there software on it like they want, the ipic movies have been trying to get the ipad to work for 3 months now just for ordering food but it cant just freezes and keeps the old login info with little hardware to back it up, sports use windows, hospitals cant use a ipad other than getting you to check a space for agreement to payment just like small dentist office, most retail stores that did the ipad push for the last 2 to 3 years ago changing back to pos terminals, i have never seen a hotel chain with ipad yet in the country or the world. whining little apple fans will never change the tech worlds apple portrait of a little girls and boy taking a selfie with a low res camera just like others taking pics of them selves to boost there confidence

See the sales numbers when it launches. Here's the cycle: Apple announces product, android fanboys (not users), nag, and hate on product and Steve Jobs, and Cook. Product launches, sells like hotcakes, and android fanboys nag.

I feel like you ran that post through Google Translate one too many times, engineer.

Hah! LA already bought iPads for almost every school and you call it a big flop? the reason why they stopped is because of budget issues.

While true Dark, I've seen a change lately though, where many of these same organizations have switched to other products. The NFL uses Surface Pros, the NBA use Samsung Tabs, LA Unified School District are switching out of iPads to something else (due to cost and possible corruption allegations), and even my local school district have been switching to Chromebooks. I think the alternatives today are quite capable with offering the same amount of productivity as the iPad. Where the iPad excelled, the app selection, the gap has closed with other platforms now having the same apps, or in the Surface's case, access to even more apps (because the Surface has access to both mobile apps and traditional Windows apps).

I live in Las Vegas, I've seen em. Let's revisit this post when it launches, and sells like hotcakes. We can argue all day, but once more: let's revisit this s lost when it launches and sells like hotcakes. I don't know about you, but engineer is the typical Apple hater, that wants to see Apple fail, simply cuz he doesn't like em. He has no valid true reason as to why he wants them to flop. Hence my short response to him. That tablet will not flop.

the A9X could possibly get a geek bench score of 7k the Core M sucks when it comes to performance it only barley beats the A8X.

Can the A9X run illustrator or photoshop? If you want "Pros" to use it, it better be able to run Pro software not $.99 apps. Geek bench won't help you get work done.

there's nothing about core M in the Anantech article. It's even in the same league.

OSX isn't even remotely optimized for touch. The UX would be terrible.

not true, people actually installed osx on surface pros and the result was actually pretty surprising, osx is really good using touch, mostly because it was optimized for multi gesture from the beginning.

Using three hands lol. Anyways if it is that big I feel like only using it in a table with a stand. Much better with a keyboard. No way I'm using it while carrying it around.

What's the point of having aa 12.9" ipad? The weight itself will be unbearable.

7. mixedfish

And you'd think think people with Surface Pro's all have broken wrists from the weight?

No one even buys surface pro in the first place. The sales are sh*t and that itself is the indication of how stupid this idea is. Just for your information I've held a 12" note 2014 and it was much, much heavier than the 10.1" version, so yea, weight is problematic. Not to mention you don't need 13" to browse the net. Tablets are cool because they're light and portable. We don't need netbook wannabes, sth surface is trying to be.

What..? Surface Pro 3 had good sales. I use the Surface Pro, I'm an artist and I use the original surface pro to work on my illustrations and do some 3d sketch or video edit while im out of work. This is aimed "to those who work on the go".
