Leaked Google Pixel and Pixel XL photos show white versions of the two phones

Leaked Google Pixel and Pixel XL photos show white versions of the two phones
Earlier today, we reported about a Nest commercial that may have showcased - for a few seconds - one of Google's yet-to-be-announced Pixel handsets. Now, it looks like we can see not just one, but both upcoming Pixel phones, which are expected to be announced sometime soon, possibly in October.

As you may have heard, Google is seemingly getting ready to release a regular Pixel (sporting a 5-inch 1080p display), and a Pixel XL (with a larger, high-res 5.5-inch Quad HD screen). Assuming that the leaked images included below are genuine, the two upcoming Google smartphones look very alike, differing only in size. The devices have rear cameras with LED flashes, round fingerprint scanners on the back, USB Type-C ports at the bottom, and power and volume buttons on the right side.

It's said that both the Pixel and Pixel XL are manufactured by HTC and are made out of metal (aluminum), though there's a portion on the rear (housing the camera and fingerprint scanner) that appears to be made out of glass.

According to previous rumors, the Pixel and Pixel XL are powered by Snapdragon 820 processors, and will likely run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Mind you, these won't be the world's first phones to ship with Nougat, as this honor is reserved to the LG V20.

Prices for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL could start at $649 (unlocked), but we really hope that this isn't true.

How about Black Onyx? Google, just release it - already!

I think there's three colors - Black, blue and silver. The silver and possibly blue have white fronts while the black version has a black front.

Ignoring the back fingerprint scanner, They both look like cheap iPhone clones. Damn! Google is now copying Apple in design, form factor, and surprisingly pricing!!!.

Minus the glass on nearly half of the back it looks like an HTC 10. The front looks like an iPhone because it's white. I have a 6P and 5X and both would probably look like an iPhone if they had white fronts.

Design cues of iphone were taken from HTC M8. Apple hired a designer from HTC for the design of ip6. This is the reason that iphone look like a copy of pixel phone and HTC M10.

Still worried that next year's nexus might not cone with a 5.7" screen. I'll shut up about it if someone has a rumour on it being 5.7"

I hate the design, the front looks like an iPhone 6, and the back looks like they were torn between going with the 6s or the 4s design. I expect more from HTC.

Not really hating but it does look like there will be a front home button and a fingerprint at the back. Which makes no sense to me at all. Also pricing will be steep, 649 for the normal Pixel.

I was hoping for an HTC 10 like google device, not this

Doesn't make sense to me either. The photos presented here seam to have that part of the front blurred out for some reason. It's still possible that it's their new branding that they are hiding. Guess we'll know for sure in October.

There are almost always blurred out spots on photos of unreleased devices. Usually it's the mark or barcode or whatever that designates who's device it is. They blur it out so the company (in this case Google) can't identify who leaked the photos. I seriously doubt there's anything under the blurred out spot that is of any consequence to the consumer.

The front looks like the iPhone because it's white. With the Nexus line the front was always black but they're changing it up now. The back looks like any HTC device from their "M" line of phones.

This design is not worth the price I'm pretty sure it will be good but only 2yr updates $650? Might be time grab my 950 and get hp elite x3 windows 10 mobile.

Was looking forward to ditching iOS and upgrading to one of the new Google phones, but for them to go from something as elegant as the 6P to this? Not really digging this design at all. Guess that's off my list

Yeeeep... Feels more than a little lame. If this is what Google's in house design team is coming up with, they need to rethink a few things.

Oh my trusty Nexus 6...you've become even more precious to me now. This Pixel crap makes me want to hurl all over Google's front lawn. You better make me proud next year Google.

This design looks gross... what a letdown. I hope it's like the 6p as I was critical of its design and when I held it in my hands it looked/felt great. Now let's get the price right Google!

I remember people were saying the same thing about the Nexus 6p last year and it turned out to be a great phone. Likewise I think this phone will be good once seen in person.

The front better not look like that cause that thing looks ugly, they gotta come with little sensores and led notifications and s**t. Gotta make a phone look beautiful inside and out.
