LG's foldable smartphone will be announced in January at CES 2019
After years of waiting, foldable smartphones are just around the corner. It’s fair to say that the most anticipated of all is the Samsung Galaxy F, but there are actually a number of other companies working on their own alternatives.

Set to launch in the second half of 2019, brands such as Huawei and Xiaomi are preparing smartphones, while Lenovo is working on a tablet that uses an LG display. On the other hand, companies such as Samsung and LG are expected to dominate the first half of the year. The exact release date of these devices still remains unclear, but according to tipster Evan Blass, LG’s first foldable smartphone will make its debut in January at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.

The exact design and specs of LG’s device remain unknown at this point but the smartphone will likely only be available in limited quantities. Also worth pointing out is the fact that it may face some immediate competition. After all, according to recent reports, Samsung will also unveil its foldable smartphone at CES 2019.

Unsurprisingly, pricing remains up in the air right now as well. But one piece of information did point towards a price tag of almost $2,000 for Samsung’s Galaxy F, which means LG’s alternative could cost just as much.
