Is the Android handset of GIGA-BYTE a real thing?
We have showed you pictures of the device that is, allegedly, GIGA-BYTE´s first Android handset on two occasions in the last several weeks. First we saw blurry renderings, but crisp and supposedly real images of the cell phone followed shortly. It now seems they are all fake.

The guys at MattAndTracy (blog) claim they have contacted the PR department of the Taiwanese company and the officials confirmed that all the images and specifications that had been leaked on the Internet by that time were not just fake, but none of them got even close to revealing what the prototypes looked like. They also stated that all upcoming models of GIGA-BYTE would be based on Windows Mobile, while an Android handset might roll out later on, at the end of 2010. We still do not have any information on whether or not the future Android cell phone of the manufacturer will actually be an affordable device as the refuted details had it.

We have to admit, however, that the pictures of the handset do look quite real. We hope MattAndTracy´s source is reliable and not sending us all on a wild-goose chase.
