Inductive charging brought onto the HTC EVO 4G thanks to a mod
Made specifically for their webOS powered devices, Palm's Touchstone charger continues to amaze some people as it is able to provide for a unique way to charge a phone. Interestingly enough, the Android powered HTC EVO 4G has something in common with those webOS smartphones – it has the ability to function perfectly with the Touchstone charger. Inductive charging is brought onto the EVO 4G thanks to one mod that will easily surprise friends due to its uniqueness. Although it is quite possible to get this to work on the high powered smartphone, there is definitely some work needed to get it to function 100 percent properly. Essentially what needs to happen first is to use a donor Touchstone rear cover and remove its induction contacts, connect them to the back cover of an EVO 4G with some magnets for grip, and some wires to properly route them to its charging ports. Once that's all completed, you'll be able to set your handset on the nifty Touchstone and let it do its thing. Naturally you'll get some second looks from people who check it out, but thankfully the magnets on the handset won't interfere with the EVO 4G's built-in compass - so they say.
