With the unveiling of the Huawei P30
and P30 Pro
just five days away, the company released a video teaser today
that focuses on the P30
Pro's 10X hybrid zoom. The handset will feature a quad-camera setup in back that includes a 40MP primary sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor and a Time-of-Flight sensor for AR and more accurate depth measurement.
The Huawei P30 is expected to offer a 5X hybrid zoom and will carry a tri-camera setup on the back. While the sensors on the phone will be similar to what you'll find on the P30 Pro
, the lower priced model will not be equipped with the Time-of-Flight camera. The optics on both phones will be from Leica.
Besides the hybrid zoom capabilities of both handsets, Huawei says that it will use a combination of software and hardware to improve low-light photography on the P30 line. Whether Huawei will be able to dethrone the current low-light champion, the Pixel 3
, won't be known until the new phones are released on April 5th.
The video teaser produced by Huawei hints that users will be able to record on video a wide-angle and zoom perspective of the same scene at the same time. The teaser, which is titled "See everything with the #HUAWEIP30," can be found at the top of this article.
