Huawei P9 press image of the phone's dual camera setup and fingerprint scanner surfaces

With the Huawei P9 set to be unveiled on April 6th, a press image showing the back of the phone surfaced today, just three days before the media event takes place. The image not only confirms the dual camera set up, but also confirms that a Leica camera will be at least one of the snappers used on back. Besides the flash, there is also a laser auto focus on the rear of the device. Previous rumors had both rear cameras weighing in at 12MP.

Previous speculation had the P9 bringing a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. Huawei's home-grown Kirin 955 SoC is said to be under the hood, along with 4GB of RAM. Android 6.0 is believed to be pre-installed.

There still is confusion about the specs since we could see the Huawei P9, P9 lite, P9 Max and a special P9 enhanced version all unveiled at the same time. The 4GB of RAM and Kirin 955 SoC mentioned in today's leak is a bit more high powered than the 3GB of RAM and Kirin 950 chipset rumored earlier to be inside the phone. In addition, some leaks show a round fingerprint scanner under the camera, while others feature a squarer button.

We should have all the answers on Wednesday, when the Huawei P9 is officially unveiled. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the tip!

That was the most hilarious thing I have read in awhile. Yes GPU matters.

Do GPU's matter, yes. Does a phone need the latest and greatest GPU? no, not one bit. I know people with galaxy S3's that run most games just fine, only a selective few have performance issues, and the SGS5 runs everything so yeah... And I think that is the point trying to be made, you don't need the 'latest and greatest' GPU, last years, even two years back in terms of GPU would be fine, especially if phone isn't intended for gaming.

Hilarious is YOU from your reply I already deducted that you are not grown yet as u only want ''the greatest' gpu because u seen it in others smartphones (e.g. samsung S7) so for you only highest gpu matters .. so you are one of those kids.. I said ; powerful enough and if u doubt it won't be you are naive..

Um... If Huawei devices are made for businessmen and gentlemen, then why does EMUI look like it was designed by a 5th grader that forgot to take his Adderall?

I see hundreds of business professionals, 5 days a week. I've never seen one with a Huawei device. Not one. I guess they're popular somewhere, but it's definitely not North America.

You mean the same company that makes Canon prices look ultra cheap but doesn't have any IQ advantage? No

why leica logo is so ugly.... it's just like carrior logo in the back (Am i the only one who think without leica logo is pretty?)

I do not think Huawei initially planned it being there. If you look at earlier leaks last year, you would see LTE and DELUX. Maybe Leica asked them to for royalty.

Huawei has incredibly improved in the past 2 years. It's worth noting that the huawei ascend p7 didn't come with the best hardware of its time. But the P9 goes all-in-all with the kirin 955, hopefully!
