Huawei P8 Lite announced: sleek new mid-ranger

10comments

Along with the flagship Huawei P8, the company unveiled a more affordable model: the Huawei P8 Lite.

With a slightly smaller, 5-inch display, and a more toned down design (there's no full-metal unibody here), the P8 Lite features Huawei's own Kirin 620 octa-core system chip, 4G LTE connectivity and a 13-megapixel main camera.

Here is a quick run-down of the Huawei P8 Lite specs:
Platform: Android 5.0 Lollipop mit EMUI 3.1
Display: 5-inch 720 x 1280-pixel HD screen
Dimensions: 143 x 70.6 x 7.7mm, weight of 131g
System chip: HiSilicon Kirin 620 with 64-bit octa-core processor @ 1.2 GHz
RAM: 2GB
Internal storage: 16GB internal storage, supports microSD cards of up to 128GB
Cameras: 13MP main camera with dual-LED flash, 5 MP front-facing selfie cam
Battery: 2.200mAh
Connectivity: 4G LTE, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC

So far, these specs are the only details available. Huawei did not show the mid-ranger at its big P8 launch event, as it has chosen to do the unveiling quietly.

The Huawei P8 Lite price and release date have not been disclosed yet, but given the spec sheet, expectations are that this will be an affordable phone in the lower mid-range section competing with devices like the Motorola Moto G.
