HTC Desire Z and Desire HD to getget TomTom pre-installed in Europe and Asia
HTC has worked out a deal with popular navgation company TomTom to have the service featured on the HTC Desire Z and HTC Desire HD in Europe and Asia. The agreement also covers some other handsets to be produced for other geographical locations in the future by the Taiwanese based firm.

TomTom's mapping features will now be found pre-installed as part of the manufacturers new HTC Locations mapping service, where turn-by-turn navigation can be bought. For those HTC users without the ability to use Google Maps, TomTom provides an outstanding replacement option. John Wang, chief marketing officer at HTC, said, "This partnership with TomTom underlines HTC’s commitment to giving our customers an innovative navigation experience that is natural and provides unique enhancements for common navigation needs.”

TomTom was just as pleased to have worked out this agreement with HTC. Maarten van Gool, Managing Director of TomTom Licensing, commented, "I am very pleased to be providing HTC customers with TomTom’s accurate location and navigation content on their phones wherever they are. The beauty of it is that the maps are preloaded and instantly available at users’ fingertips. For the first time, this makes the power of TomTom navigation content available ‘in-pocket’ for HTC smartphone users."
