HP launches a 7.85-inch $170 tablet, the HP 8 1401

It looks like HP decided to quietlylaunch an 8-inch tablet in the US. And a budget one at that, with aprice that comes a cent short of $170. The new HP 8 1401 has a 7.85-inch IPSdisplay with a resolution of 1024x768 and runs on an Allwinnerquad-core chip, paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB of storage. It has apair of cameras as well, with the front being 0.3MP and the rear -2MP. The battery life is rated at 7 hours of usage, with batterycapacity coming in at 3800mAh. Finally, the operating system isAndroid 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The HP 8 1401 tablet comes with alifetime 25GB of free cloud storage in Box, and HP offers freeshipping in the US.
