Front panel of Motorola Moto X4 leaked; screen to be shatterproof like the DROID Turbo 2?

The latest leaked photo of the next-generation Motorola Moto X4 has surfaced. We can see the fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. According to the latest rumors, the screen is not only an AMOLED display, it also will be shatterproof thanks to Motorola's ShatterShield technology. That is the same system used to make the display shatterproof on the Motorola DROID Turbo 2.

Yesterday, we passed along several leaks including images of what is alleged to be the Moto X4 and a new Motorola DROID handset that is coming to Verizon. The DROID render had many similarities to the Moto X4 image. You might recall that last year's Motorola DROID MAXX 2 was really the Motorola Moto X Play re-labeled by Verizon.

The Moto G4 Plus and the Motorola Moto G are expected to be unveiled on May 17th during a Motorola media event. The Moto X4 could be announced on August 24th, which is the date shown on the screen of the renders.

Thanks for the tip!

Yup, "Superfish" Lenovo totally destroyed Moto. All they need to do is add fingerprint scanner in the moto dimple and return to FHD resolution for 5.5 inch display and put bigger battery like 3600mAh in the pure version. Boom, pretty much a perfect android phone. But NO. they had to mess it up a unique and beautiful design. Good luch selling it Lenovo because you are going to need it.

"Shatterproof". No such thing when it comes to smartphones. I've seen plenty of broken Turbo 2's.

Shockproof should become the real deal.

They really had to put that logo on the humongous chin of the phone instead of trying to figure out ways how to make it more bearable to look at The 4th generation of Moto phones make me - upset? It's almost like Lenovo have made latest Moto phones look like crap on purpose to make their subpar dingleberry trash look better. This is sad to look at. They literally took away every lovable design cue of previous gen phones. And here I was, rooting for Motorola.

I am actually dying to buy a moto x 2015 now, despite knowing the specs are outdated by now. I dunno, moto obsession.

The phone is going to be unveiled on June 1.. There will be 2 flagship variants one named vector thin the other vertex. Both will come with 5.5" screens with the vector thin being the higher end one. The vector thin will have a 5.5 QHD amoled shatter proof screen, snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, will be a crazy 5.2mm thin. It will also have a 13MP camera with laser AF OIS, and a 2,600 MAH battery. The phone also comes with crazy modularity like 16 hole pin on the back for a camera grip with flash and optical zoom, a battery pack, surround speakers, a crazy Pico projector, and finally a rugged cover with wide angle lens attachment. The phone will transform the mobile industry forever.

The vertex will have a 3,500 MAH battery, will also have a snapdragon 625, a traditional 16MP camera. It will also come in 2GB/3GB configurations while it will be 7mm thin. The screen will be full HD. The phone will also have the same modularity like the higher end sibling.. This phone will get LG rethinking it's existence!!!

Doesn't that make the higher end model rethink itself too?

They did the same thing last year. The Moto X Pure/Style had a better processor but a smaller battery than the Moto X Force did.

Nope read post 16. The vector thin will have a better QHD screen (possibly shatter proof), will have a far better CPU and GPU (snapdragon 820 and adreno 530), a better quality 13MP camera with OIS, will be better designed for the fashionistas out there. If nothing changes and the modularity is done right, this will possibly be the best phone in the history of mobile phones. Let's keep our fingers crossed..

Nope! A better 13MP camera with OIS, dope design, 4GB RAM, better CPU and GPU too (snapdragon 820 and adreno 530 GPU), QHD possibly shatter proof screen and thinner (for the fashionistas out there).. If nothing changes, especially with the six crazy module and their implementation, this will probably be the best phone in the history of the mobile space.. But let's keep our fingers crossed!!!

Who cares about this. Soon, the only great phones will be Apple, Samsung, and LG.
