First Samsung with Bluetooth announced

The wait is over! Samsung has finally decided to release mobile phone with Bluetooth connectivity. Even thought the device support 1900 Mhz US frequency, its primary target is the European market. Nevertheless the announcement is significant since Samsung was the only major manufacturer lacking a Bluetooth capable device. Mega pixel camera capability is not missing – the phone is equipped with 1.3 mega pixels with flash and 60 minutes video recording. We were very dissatisfied with the video quality of the SGH-D415 and we hope that Samsung has done something to improve it in the D500. The new phone is expected to be available Q4 of 2004 (at least in Europe)

SGH-D500 specifications:

  • Tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz)
  • Camera : 1.3 Mega pixel Camera with Flash and digital zoom
  • Display : 262,144 TFT LCD (176x220 pixels)
  • Dimension : 93.5×45.7 ×23.5mm
  • Weight : 99g
  • Video Recording & Messaging (H.263/MPEG4)
  • Music Player (MP3/AAC)
  • E-Mail Client / vCard / vCalendar
  • MMS / Java / WAP 2.0
  • Bluetooth / USB Memory / SyncML
  • 64 Polyphonic Ring tones / MP3 Ring tone
