Exclusive: Motorola Moto X to be released "somewhat simultaneously" with new DROIDs
Verizon just announced the new lineup of Motorola DROIDs that will be coming to the carrier, including the DROID MAXX, DROID Ultra, and DROID Mini. Our source close to Motorola has been pretty well spot on for us throughout this Moto X saga, and their new information is that the Moto X will be released "somewhat simultaneously" with the new DROIDs.

This is the same source who gave us early insight into the expected specs (which have been confirmed), release window, and color options for the Moto X, as well as the one that tipped us about the DROIDs in the pipeline in the first place, so they have proven themselves reliable. This time around, our source is saying that the off-contract price will be very cheap, which seems to confirm the $299 rumor we heard earlier today. And, our source is saying that the Moto X will be released "somewhat simultaneously" with the new DROIDs, meaning a few days at most between the releases.

Since Verizon has said the new DROID lineup will launch on August 20th, that gives us a pretty good idea of when to expect the Moto X as well. This confirms what we've seen as far as the August 23rd release date for the Moto X on Verizon.

We'll be getting the official word next Thursday, but the picture just keeps getting clearer as we get closer to the announcement.

Do you people think it will be Google which will be selling MotoX like Nexus, or Motorola itself???

Oh FFS! The "moto X" IS nothing more than a re-designed Droid ultra. I have no doubt whatsoever that google is planning to dump the nexus range and replace it with "X" branding

"Somewhat simultaneously" That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one.

Given what we're seeing with Android 4.3, Google seems to know how to get battery life without a huge mAh capacity.

yeah, i saw that article and it made me think of the battery life possibilities for the X but Android 4.3 shifts the battery life magnitude for Android devices as a whole so if 4.3 brings battery life for the X closer to something we'd expect now from a MAXX imagine 4.3 on a MAXX...
