Dell Streak is moving past Android 2.1 and looking towards Android 2.2
With plenty of handsets receiving the Android 2.2 Froyo love, it was only a matter of time before Dell would eventually start to grace the Streak with the much wanted treatment.

Granted that some European owners of the Dell Streak are finally getting comfy with Android 2.1, Dell appears to be hitting the brakes on it for AT&T's version of the Streak and will seemingly just wait to simply push out Android 2.2. Due to their commitment in bringing forth Froyo on a global stage, AT&T customers holding dearly to the Streak will have to settle with Android 1.6 for the foreseeable future until Froyo is finally available.

Thankfully, it won't be too long before they experience the fruits of their hard labor as Dell is expected to make Froyo available before the end of the year. As much as we'd like to be optimistic regarding major software updates with Android, it would probably be best to expect it to arrive at the very latest date of December 31st. Still, there are others hopeful in seeing it much earlier than that – so we'll see what happens.
