This 2017 model has very poor resolution and low detail compared to the 2016 model and the 2016 model wasn't that great to begin with. I think we have to wait a few more generation before we get 360 cameras with image quality comparable to smart phones.

I don't get it why would they release this in 1st place if it's gonna have a lower video quality when compared to the 1st Gen. And are people this dumb for paying for something that is more expensive but less powerful than the old model?

I bought the Gear 360 2017 and I like it. Was it worth the $229 price? Absolutely not, should have been a hundred dollars less, due to the just so-so pics and video. That being said, it is a fun camera to use, and I still enjoy the 360 picture novelty. I definitely recommend using a tripod for pics and videos, a tripod mitigates the weird look of the camera being cut off in the hand when taking a picture/video.
