Deal: Motorola Nexus 6 priced starting at $249.99 at Amazon
While the new Google Nexus 6P might be all the rage in the upper price segment of the smartphone market, the price of the handset is prohibitive for many potential customers. If you want to get a large Nexus phablet but don't feel like spending $499 on the 32GB Nexus 6P, you might want to check out last year's Motorola-made Nexus 6. While Google nixed the Nexus 6 from the Google Store a couple of weeks ago, the phone is still available for purchase from the manufacturer itself and various retailers.

As it happens, Amazon is currently offering the Motorola Nexus 6 at just $249.99 for the 32GB version, while the 64GB version of the phone is available at $299.99. That's a $100 discount across the board compared to what Motorola is currently asking for the two versios of the phone.

With specs such as a 5.96-inch SAMOLED display running at a resolution of 1440 by 2560 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdraon 801 chipset with a 2.7GHz quad-core Krait 450 CPU and an Adreno 420 GPU, a 13MP primary camera with OIS and dual-LED flash, and the promise of timely Android updates throghout 2016, the Motorola Nexus 6 offers great value at a $249.99 starting price.

Amazon's offer is valid until Christmas comes, meaning that you still have time to head on over to our detailed Google Nexus 6 review and find out if this is what you're getting for Christmas.

I really want a more than capable 6" phone and this offer is too tempting but I can't see myself ditching my note5 for a spec step backwards

Yeah, I will admit that it is a specs step backwards, but I've read that updates to some of Samsung phones have actually resulted in drops in performance, so even with less impressive hardware, it isn't unreasonable to say that the year old Nexus 6 might one day outperform your Note 5. All speculation on my part based entirely off of online reports. I haven't had hands on experience with either device.

Even though the Nexus 6 has a slightly older Snapdragon 805 processor. The LTE 6, WiFi ac, and project Fi really help to extend this device. Plus VR with its Quad HD AMOLED display looks awesome.

But the author made a typo about the chipaet: "Snapdragon 801", instead of Snapdragon 805! The CPU and frequency is correctly typed though...

...about the chipset* (Typo error too). Haha, the keyboard betrays everyone!

I would spend a few more and get something a little more capable phone. Even the Moto X Pure Edition would be a better buy. The battery life is terrible on the Nexus 6 and the camera is laughably awful.

Don't you know a troll when you see one? Mr. Negativity in post 2 has never had a positive thing to say about anything that wasn't unprompted by another commentor.

Every time a moto article shows up, Mxy can't help but poop all over. Really weird.

Don't bother, I've provided that same link to the same idiot nearly half a dozen times already, he still talks crap.

What's even funnier is that PA's battery chart shows that the Nexus 6 has better battery life than the 6 Plus. http://i.imgur.com/QqOHYwF.jpg

That may be true, but you're not permitted to say anything bad about Apple in front of Mxyzptlk. Otherwise he'll grow unreasonably upset. Take it from me, I know. Look at his avatar and you'll see my avatar is posted on his @$$. He's just not open to the idea that he's an ignorant hypocrite.

Scott! I really wonder why Mxy trolls you with that avatar. Heck, this is not the first time I see Mxy bash the Nexus 6's camera. I wonder how come he's not yet banned!

His profile image was changed because I had changed mine first to show his avatar on the body of an Apple sheep. I actually criticized his lack of effort with the image and I have challenged him to do a better job. I actually find it funny and would encourage others to do the same. I hope people don't get banned for mocking others with their profile images.

Huh I never noticed that... what a weirdo. But I think given the context you can probably get away with just typing "ass."

Maybe, it's a murky situation this one is. Now if his profile image is a representation for who he is, then it would be fitting to refer to him as an ass, but then my statement in it's context would be the @$$ of the ass, so I'm not sure if I could get away with that. Now if the ass were actually a pet of his, I believe that I can say that my profile image was on his ass as I could simply say that the "ass" was the animal in general and in no way indicating the lower rear posterior of the stubborn quadruped. I think that in situations like this, it is best to play it safe and leave it up to the individual to decide for themselves the context of the user's profile image and comments made in relating to it.

Haha... Well, I rarely play safe; I mostly play rough! Mine's versus darkkjedii... He pisses me off! and PA turns a blind eye at his arrogant insults: maggot, dumbass, fool, etc... I'll make sure he gets banned, and I'm gonna acomplish that mission, dude!

Hey now, I get along with darkkjedi just fine. LOL, it's funny how people on this site single out another individual as their opposition.

that arrogant guy gets away with he's insults all the time. Why the he** are PA moderators not seeing all his BS insults?!?! I'm sick of it

Get over it. Have you seen your own comments?

Hey Mxy, don't mess with me. You're a notorious troll here, way worse than mine. I may troll a device, but I do not insult people.

Well, if you wanted a larger AMOLED display with fast OS updates and the option to use Google's project Fi then the Moto X Pure isn't the phone you'd pick. But those details aside, the Moto X is the better device.

I got the Nexus 6 for my mom. She has a hard time seeing and she believes having a bigger phone will help her out with letters....so whatever.

Can you get a Moto X Pure for $250? Under $300? Ooohkay.

Maybe you should learn to read. I said "spend a little more" in my comment. Reading comprehension, learn it.

Look at the salty tears below. Not surprised Scott is once again whining about my comments.

Hey! There you are Mr. Negativity! Turn that frown upside down! It's the Christmas season! I think you can spend a week without that stick up your butt. Just try to stay positive, this is the time of year to expect miracles to happen, and if you're really lucky, this might be the year you ditch your V card! Maybe then you might not be such an insatiable dildo all year long. I'll be cheering for ya!!! XD

Now there's the Scott who is back to being the typical Scott over the emo Scott who constantly whines and complains like he has a something stuck up his rear. Maybe this will be the season you decide to ditch your V card.
