Every new Apple product is more expensive than the predecessor and the company's smartwatch is no exception to this unwritten rule. Those who can't afford to purchase a new Apple Watch or iPhone must wait at least one year hoping that the price will drop so that they can get their favorite device.

If you absolutely must own an Apple Watch, but can't afford to pay $400 for the cheapest model, then your best alternative would an Apple Watch Series 3, which much cheaper. Not to mention that the Apple Watch Series 3 gets major discounts more often than not.

Amazon is running a promotion on the Apple Watch Series 3, so if you're in the market for a smartwatch, make sure to check it out. The US retailer offers an $80 discount on the 38mm model, which usually sells for $280.

The 42mm variant is getting the same discount, but you'll have to pay slightly more since this is usually more expensive ($310).
