Commercial and promotional video for HTC One M9 both leak

Commercial and promotional video for HTC One M9 both leak
A commercial and a promotional clip for the HTC One M9 have leaked, and the design of the phone looks exactly like the renders that we showed you this morning. The ad seemed to concentrate on some new camera features that will be part of Sense 7.0. The Duo cameras are gone, replaced by what is expected to be a 20MP camera on the back. The 4MP Ultrapixel camera that was on the back of the HTC One (M8) is believed to be the front-facing snapper on the HTC One M9.

A promotional video, not as clear as the commercial, shows different home and work themes for the phone. We also notice thinner bezels on the HTC One M9. The whole effect, once again, reveals a premium looking handset. With the new camera setup on the HTC One M9, the camera cannot be used anymore as an excuse not to buy the phone. And yes, it would make sense (no pun intended) for HTC to promote the new rear camera on its flagship phone like it did with the leaked ad.

The HTC One M9 will be unveiled March 1s in Barcelona at MWC 2015. We will be there to make sure you get all the news when it happens!

Thanks for the tip!

Who thought that those leaks were the reap deal!!! The initial renders were great, and i guess HTC should've went after the guy who drew them and hire him, instead they kept the exact same front as the m8.
The guys behind HTC are really reluctant to digg their own graves. No way on earth will they be able to compete with the S6, Z4 and G4.

What are HTC doing?
The M7 design was a huge improvement over the One X/One X+
The M8 design was a step back, removed capacitive buttons and made the HTC bezel useless
Now the M9 design is another step back, removed full silver option and made camera protruding

I would take the m8 Eye over this in a heartbeat. 13mp duo camera vs 20mp camera, and thats about it. $475 for the m8 Eye vs $750 for the m9.

Wow... so those renders weren't the real thing. That makes me very sad :(

Hoping Motorola will have something out soon with an SD 810 as I really need an upgrade. I've been resisting the nexus 6 due to its size but I may have to dive in after all and get a phablet...

I dont see the protruding camera.
Plus Htc made the knock code sort of, you don't need to rely on power button.

its fake! look closely how the time remains same throughout the whole video! the top bar is static! So the clock is stuck at 11:30.
you're welcome :)

another thing is that htc always has the clock set for 10:08 on the cell phone all the time, in any commercial or photos since 2009 or earlier

The black bezel killed the design.

I was thinking the same thing as well. At least they trimmed down the side bezels but unfortunately they kept the top and bottom bezels pretty thick. This just adds height to the device and makes it taller than what it needs to be. After three years they still haven't figure out how to position the component to get rid of that huge bottom bezel? They can blame the speakers again but now is going believe that again.

The fact that they left that stupid black htc bar at the bottom for 3 years in a row is enough for me to not purchase, no offence but someone needs to be fired wtf is the point of that damn bar

It would be a flop like its predecessors. But at least they remove that gimmicky 4 Ultrafail camera...

I was hoping they would come up with a 8, 10 or 13 ultrapixel camera. But I guess the guys at the lab gave up on it. I'm not an HTC fan but I was really hoping they would come up with a better ultrapixel camera along with good software to get great pics.

That bottom bezel for the logo makes me sad. I hope that protruding rear camera has a scratch proof glass.

Don't fix it when it's not broken! Go htc. Ignore these people who say you need to change the design! This is htc's identity. Lg,samsung, apple and sony release their flagships looking strickingly like their predecessors and I don't get why you idiot haters complain when htc does it. You're obviously trolls

Not really. As much as I love my M8 even apple does a refresh every 2 years, people just want to see something new and to a lot of people this is kind of lazy

The m7 and m8 design were the foundation of the one series. I would hate them to change it as this is what they're known for. If they keep on changing the design, how will they build their identity or how will they make people say "oh!that's an htc one!" Same goes with the galaxy and iphone, if they make huge changes to the design, how will they be still able to tell that it's that phone? No oem changes their design every year. So if htc does it, why the hell are these haters complaining? Another example is porsche 911 cars, same design every year and just a few modifications with every release. This is the concept that you need to understand. That is their bloodline and what the car is known for if they suddenly change it, you'll ruin the whole image

If your a real HTC fan you would want them to change it up to attract millions of poeple to buy the phone and keep the lights on. I doubt your a fan or you would see that M7 and M8 did not sell enough. At the end of the day all companies need to sell to survive. HTC need it to bring something to pull fans from Samsung and Apple not to make the current fans run to them.

The m7 and m8 are already standing out, why would they change? Only on tech sites would i see people complain about the bezel and camera. Which means a very small number out of the whole total number of consumers care about that. I have met around a 100 friends for a year with me holding my m8 and when they tested it out, the camera was their favorite feature saying it takes photos like an dslr and images were extremely clear and crisp they like the design too. Which means(majority of consumers), they don't care about what you haters complain about

OK let me explain to you why they should change it because you don't seem to get it. The renders shown previously, with the hidden away speakers, were simply cleaner and a drastic improvement on the design. This is what companies should do, refine their designs and improve. Repeating the same thing over and over will not win anyone over. If they only fixed the camera and put some new chip in, that's not really any design work that went into the new device... the desire Eye actually featured a new design and is more worthy of people spending money on. So, why should people get an m9 over an m8 if the design didn't really change? They shouldn't. Carry on now.

then support and purchase the desire eye series if that design is your liking. the htc one will always be htc one, this design will never change

It's not that people are expecting a radical change, it's just that HTC has been too conservative in designing the M9. M8 was a looker but style gets obsolete. For a company that's on the verge of exiting the scene, I think it's a wrong move to follow the path Samsung took last year where they focused more on the software with the S5.

Why should I support it if there's better devices out there with cleaner design running stock (or near to stock) android? The initial renders of the M9 with the clean front and hidden away speakers looked amazing and worth throwing my money at. This new design? Nah, it's old and DOA. Waiting until MWC unveil and final confirmation of what will really roll out. My fault for getting excited early. I give props to HTC for coming out with the dual front facing speakers, this was a huge boon but now others are doing it like the nexus 6. When I buy I phone I use it for years so it has to be something I'll really be happy with.

there is a difference between changing the design, evolving the design, and doing nothing. if the phone depicted in the video is a real M9 then it would appear that HTC is being lazy, no one is suggesting HTC do a complete redesign and lose their unique style, all we are asking for is an evolution of the existing design, a step forward and not a step sideways. Something new and exciting, not something the same.

How its not broken when HTC is around 3-4% of world market share? They are definitely doing something wrong. And as much as I think S5 was a s**tty phone if half of the S6 rumors are true then this M9 will be forgotten shortly after its lunch. And I mean that for the 99% of the world and no the 1% tech geeks and HTC sheeps.

Did you know htc had 3-4% market share when the one x lost to the samsung galaxy s3? It's not that they are doing anything wrong with their phones, it's because they failed to promote the product and convince users to choose their side. You are the blind sheep here. Ofcourse the m9 will be easily forgotten, same can be said about sony,lg and all the oems not labelled samsung or apple, that's just common sense

3-4% market share? Ha. That's funny. Look up some recent numbers. It's way less than that. You're thinking of U.S. market share.
