Calling Mr. Rollback: Walmart joins the EVO 4G party; $199 with no rebate
Where is Mr. Rollback when you need him? Certainly not hanging around the electronics department although Walmart is offering the HTC EVO 4G, starting with Friday's launch, for $199.99 and your signature on a new 2 year contract. While it is not a discount, the price already takes the mail-in rebate into consideration so that you don't need to lay out that extra money that you were only going to get back anyway. Some Walmart stores are open 24 hours a day which means that if the night shift is on the ball, and the electronics department is not a ghost town, you might be able to pick up the phone at 12:01 am and be back at home in time for a good night's sleep (Right! Like anybody who just bought an EVO 4G could put it aside and sleep) before heading for work on Friday. The discount retailer now joins such notables as Sprint, HTC, Radio Shack, Best Buy and Wirefly as places where you can buy the handset online or in person on Friday. And while you are picking up this amazing beast of a phone, you can treat yourself to a new pair of socks, some underwear and a pair of Dickies.
