BlackBerry to bring reality show to U.K. television
BlackBerry once helped produce a television show called Live and Lost with BlackBerry which showed musical artists being led to their concert venues by fans who would communicate with them via BlackBerry smartphones. Now, BlackBerry has teamed up with U.K's Channel 4 to produce a new 8 part reality show called Summer Daze with BlackBerry. The show will follow 18-25 year olds who attend music festivals around the country.
Besides airing the show on television, BlackBerry plans on showing exclusive content through an online hub on the BlackBerry website. Viewers will be able to interact with the show's "stars" using social networking sites. Among those being highlighted on the show will be a dance crew and yurt-maker (a yurt is a circular tent used by nomadic Asians). BlackBerry's ad agency, Abbot Mead Vickers BBDO, created the show as a way to fit in with the brand's current message to celebrate "people of action."
