BlackBerry Storm 2 due out in September with Wi-Fi?
SlashGear is reporting that someone "close to the issue" has told them that Verizon has given the green light for RIM to release the BlackBerry Storm 2 sometime in September of this year. The follow-up model is expected to be Wi-Fi enabled unlike the initital version. The source made it clear that Wi-Fi was not the only improvement being made to the second version of the Storm which was launched in the U.S. in November, and remains one of Verizon's top selling models. Last week, RIM  reported explosive earnings growth partially due to the introduction of the Storm. Adding Wi-Fi would address one of the chief complaints that users have had about the original model and should make the unit a stronger competitor to Apple's iPhone 3G.
