Bing Search for iOS has received an update, and while it isn't exactly earth shattering news, version
5.4 brings a new way to clear your search history. If you don't want someone to see that you've looked up "How do I deflate a football?" on Bing, simply tap on the ‘Clear search history' button that comes down from the searchbox. Your entire history, including searches, open web pages and cookies, can be erased by clicking on the "shredder" icon on the bottom left of the menu.
The update also adds optimized cards for the
Apple iPhone 6 and
Apple iPhone 6 Plus. By 'optimizing' we're pretty sure that Microsoft is referring to the larger screen sizes of the two iPhone models. If you've been in a cave somewhere, hibernating with Yogi Bear and Boo Boo, the
iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7-inch screen while the
iPhone 6 Plus phablet is endowed with 5.5-inches of glass.
Bing Search for iOS version 5.4 also comes with an improved
Popular Now feature. This basically shows you what is trending based on popular searches, with the final list selected by editors. In addition, a bug that was messing with image search results has been exterminated, and the update includes the proverbial general bug fixes and performance improvements.
Bing Search for iOS is available in the App Store where it is a free download.
