BenQ to cease funding of its German mobile division
After registering $762 millions of losses since last year's acquisition of Siemens, BenQ is to stop funding its German division for mobile phone production. BenQ-Siemens is to file for bankruptcy protection, so that the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer's financial operations could be separated from its subsidiary, should it be approved. BenQ is also considering the financial situation of its division in Brazil and other locations. Yet, it's said that the Taiwanese manufacturer will continue its branded mobile business in Asia.
