  • Updated icons for BBM Voice and Video calling
  • Improved quick reply notification support for Android "N"

  • Combined BBM Groups and group management features into the Chat screen. All chat conversations are in a single place now.

The new "Me" display section is where you will find BBM Settings, BBM Channel and BBM Profile.

If you are already a BBM for Android subscriber, go to the Google Play Store app and open it. Navigate to the hamburger menu in the top left and click. If you're not a subscriber to BBM for Android, open the Google Play Store and install the app. And that is all that you need to do.

BBM continues to become more secure, and with free voice and video calling, you can see why many have kept using BBM even after leaving BlackBerry for an iOS or Android handset.

Love the updates that BBM continually receives. The best IM client (IMO) just keeps getting better with these updates.

Yes, For sure. It's way better than all the rest of the messaging apps for me. It's easier to use, faster, plus has had the ability to voice call or video call for the longest time. One messaging application that does it all, has been, and will work over wifi all over the world as well. What is not to love?

BlackBerry user/long time BBM user understand why BBM not used for SMS. For security reasons. SMS is not secure, and once chat app use this, it no longer secure.

Exactly, MDCHO. You understand. You know who will never get it.

Really? So you're saying sms on a blackberry device isn't secure?

I'm saying SMS goes through the carrier and can be hacked a lot easier, on ANY device. Including your beloved Apple iPhone. BBM goes through BlackBerry's own infrastructure. Carriers aren't going to allow you to send SMS through any infrastructure but theirs. Why do you think iMessages turn blue when sent to non-iPhones?

Thank you, Meanestgenius. You put ignorant troll in his place again. But be careful. He will stalk you even more now.

I never said anything about anyone whining about it. Why don't you stop whining about it?

I never said that you said anything about anyone whining about it. I said YOU are whining about it, and you are, because you mention it on almost every BBM related article. It's called reading comprehension. Learn it.

As bambamboogy02 said, people are definitely still using BBM. It's all of what he said, and then some.

Perfect for securely sending messages without having to shell out a lot of cash for a blackberry handset. Plus it has a plethora of features and usable on other platforms.

It's far more niche than some people will lead you to believe.

While niche, It's used a lot more than the troll is willing to admit. There are 60 million monthly active users in Indonesia alone.

Because the average person lives in Indonesia. This is his way of backtracking when he is wrong.

Because you think that the "average person" only lives in the U.S This is your way of making a fool of yourself once again, in addition to being ignorant about BlackBerry apps like BBM.

BBM is best chat app. In Indonesia, it even beat out whatsapp for most popular. 60 million MAU is pretty big "niche" market for just in Indonesia.

Spot on. You know the deal, MDCHO.

I don't care what goes on in Indonesia. My point still stands m

I do not care what you do not care about. Your point do not mean a thing, and it do not make what I say less important.

I just wish they'd add a dark mode.

Like in BB10's BBM, right? That would be awesome! But I think that's in the works already. I believe it's in beta.
