Asus Transformer Pad TF701T to receive update to Android 4.3 on November 18th
If you own the Asus Transformer Pad TF701T, you might want to circle November 18th on your calendar. That is the date when the 10.1 inch tablet will receive the update to Android 4.3, according to Asus. Besides the usual Android 4.3 features, the update will add improved battery life, improved responsiveness of the trackpad while docked, and improved dock battery charging. The update will come OTA, making the whole process painless.
The Asus Transformer Pad TF701T is equipped with a 10.1 inch LCD screen with a 2560 x 1600 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 299ppi. A quad-core 1.9GHz Tegra 4 SoC is on board. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. A 64GB capacity microSD slot is available to expand the storage. The back and front-facing shooters weigh in at 5MP and 1.2MP respectively.
Currently, Android 4.2.2 is installed, but that will change starting next Monday. And the updating probably won't end there with at least one more, to Android 4.4, said to be very likely.
UPDATE: While the OTA update to Android 4.3 might still arrive on November 18th, those who don't want to wait for it can download it directly from the Asus Support Site.
