Apple's free case program for the iPhone 4 is set to expire at the end of the month
Well, it looks as though that the time is nearing when Apple will completely halt its free case program for the iPhone 4. The costly investment in providing iPhone 4 owners a free bumper case to resolve its antenna issues, which is probably insignificant to the sum of money Apple is able to pull in as a whole, is set to expire at the end of the month – September 30th to be exact. If you managed to take a look at their official iPhone 4 Case Program web site, you're treated with the following statement:

“We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought. A small percentage of iPhone 4 users need a case, and we want to continue providing them a Bumper case for free. For everyone else, we are discontinuing the free case program on all iPhone 4s sold after September 30, 2010. We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. Users experiencing antenna issues should call AppleCare to request a free Bumper case.”

Through it all, there is still no indication whether or not Apple did anything to the design of the iPhone 4 to resolve the issues surrounding its antenna woes – which affects some, but apparently not everyone.
