Apple makes it possible for iPhone users to get discounts on previous subscriptions
Apple has just announced that app developers that offer subscription-based services will now be allowed to offer their important discounts to their past subscribers. Up until now, these offers were only available to new subscribers, but the new promoting system gives devs a chance to bring back some of the customers they lost.
According to Apple, these new features will available in iOS 12.2 and later, but developers can already set everything up for what's to come by creating offers in App Store Connect. In case you're wondering, here are all the promotional offers that developers will soon be able to offer previous subscribers:
Free
Free
Customers access your subscription for free for a specific duration — for example, a 30-day trial for a subscription with a standard renewal price of $4.99 per month.
Pay As You Go
Customers pay a promotional price for each billing period for a selected duration — for example, $1.99 per month for three months for a subscription with a standard renewal price of $9.99 per month.
Pay Up Front
Customers pay a one-time promotional price for a specific duration — for example, $9.99 for the first six months of a subscription with a standard renewal price of $39.99 per year.
Basically, if you're a customer who has already completed an introductory offer, you'll still be able to accept the new promotional offers when they are made available by developers.
