Apple starts a page called Apps for Everything
A new section called Apps for Everything has appeared on Apple´s website. It shows a list of select applications from App Store that are grouped in relevant categories so as to allow people to find what the need more quickly and easily. As of now, there are 12 major categories, each one of them containing 8 to 24 programs and brief descriptions of what they do. Some of the groups are pretty standard, like games and music related software, but others pertain to interesting things like collections of apps aimed at students or parents.

On the one hand, Apps for Everything looks useful, since more than 85,000 applications are available through App Store at the moment and the sheer number of programs means people may find it rather hard to divide chaff from grain. On the other hand, there is a growing number of websites dedicated to application reviews and their opinion (more often than not) can be trusted, because they do not profit from your purchase.
