Repairing a smartphone or tablet has never been cheap and likely never will be, but there’s no denying Apple charges some of the highest fees in the industry.

When it comes to iPhones, Apple commands $329 for an iPhone XS Max screen replacement, while any other out-of-warranty damage will set consumers back a whopping $599. This figure matches the cost of repairs for the first and second gen 12.9-inch iPad Pro. But today, following the announcement of the third-generation tablet, Apple has once again increased its prices.

Moving forward, owners of the new 11-inch or 12.9-inch iPad Pro models will have to pay $499 and $649 respectively to repair the tablets, which equates to an extra $50 over the previous service fee. Moreover, battery repairs will continue to cost $99, while second-generation Apple Pencil battery replacements cost $29, just like the original stylus.

The increase in repair costs for the tablets likely has something to do with the new all-screen design that is present. However, as usual, Apple offers its customers the chance to acquire AppleCare+ protection for $129. This lasts for two years and reduces repair costs to just $49.
