Apple announces fastest iOS adoption ever – the newest update is already on more than half iDevices
Well, folks, the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are well on their way and, as usual, the new update to Apple's mobile operating system – iOS 9 – is already rolling out to supported devices. And the list for supported devices is pretty impressive – going back 4 years to iPhone 4s and iPad 2 and above.

A few of days ago, we heard complaints of iOS 9 causing modern devices, such as the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, to start performing terribly choppy and slow. Apparently, however, this wasn't much of a concern for most users, as Apple has just reported that iOS 9 is already downloaded to more than 50% of iDevices – that's the fastest iOS update adoption in the history of Apple mobile devices. Looking at 3rd party analytics, provided by Mixpanel and GoSquared, we see that iOS 9 is currently displayed as being used on 36% and 33% of devices, respectively. So there's a 14% - 17% discrepancy there – we're willing to chalk it up to 3rd party companies lagging behind with their information for one reason or another.

Whichever number you take, however, that's still a pretty impressive adoption rate in just 5 days after the official roll-out. Looking at Android, according to Mixpanel, Lollipop is just now hitting 37% adoption. And we are, allegedly, a couple of months away from the next big Android update – Marshmallow.

Just like sheep. Even though iOS9 is causing all sorts of problems with devices, the sheep still flock to the update. Seriously… What more proof do you need about the mentality of apple fans?

Even jellybean has more features than ios9. Lmfao. O don't be mad, we no you are missing so many features of Android. Why don't you go back to using ios5, which is empty and featureless. I mean you can just be simple. How dare you use Androids specs.

Stupid post. But if you like plethora of features - that's your business... But there are people that prefer the quality and versatility of features than quantity. You can call me apple sheep, w/e... But from using android phone - most features seem like standalone apps, on iOS its integrated into OS, throughout the ecosystem. Take Hiway's force touch for example - it's only gonna work with to own apps. Samsungs split windows, worked only with samsungs stuff. My Touch ID now used to bypass that long password in my bank app.. 3d touch is available for app developers as well. Apps on my iPhone have counterpart apps that work with Apple watch. But like I said- it feels that way, I'm pribaly wrong about all of it. Bottom line, I wouldn't diss iOS for lack of a few features as all android phones don't share the entire list of features that everyone keeps referring to when trying to compare iOS to android (leaving you to carry several android phones to make your "android has all this stuff" statement true on individual practical sense). Every manufacturer chooses what to implement and what not to implement - i doubt it's due to inability. The only thing that's keeping Apple or Samsung or others implementing some feature is a patent infringement. Other than that everything is weighted and considered with every new OS. And if you really need something that a certain phone doesn't have - you have a choice to buy something else. Your post was juvenile and without base. It would only be true if someone forces you to buy a certain phone - people actually do choose what they want - it the fact that people choose iPhones without a certainty feature that YOU cannot live without, just doesn't seem to sit well in your head and you end up lashing out showing your own insecurity. I hope you get well soon.

Enough with the welfare BS. Not everyone who owns an Android phone is poor, just like not every iPhone owner is wealthy. Seriously it sounds like you think these devices are gateways to money and influence. It's a smartphone, that's it. SMH

I don't understand, how this is even news? Given Apple sends out the notice of update to all apple devices that, the vast majority of "normal" users would just allow the phone to update? So yeah has very little to do with actual phone or such.

The Android fans are jealous because A. lollipop hasn't made that many rounds and B. it's the worst Android update.

What's really sad is you think all Android phones are welfare phones. Let's see, the oldest Androids I have in the house is a Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and a Note Pro. Are those welfare phones? The GS3 still has Jelly Bean and it works fine. Still odes more than your iPhone. Last longer on a full charge and has similar specs to the iPhone 6. The GS4 has 5.01, still does more than iOS9. My Note Pro? Came with 4.4 and is now on 5.01. Even with 4.4, I had splitscreen, multi-window, windows apps and so much more. The Note pro is basically a 12" Galaxy Note 3. The Note 3 is not 2 years old. Samsung makes devices with dualcore chips and 1GB of RAm that have some type of splitview capability. So my welfare iPhone 4S that I have laying around can't have that. But that is fine because on a 4" screen it would be stupid. But what si the excuse for my welfare iPad Mini the 1st gen one? Again, Samsung has had tablets with similatr specs that ahve some type of splitscreen view. Why doesnt my Ipad Mini get to have it? I know, because Apple wants me to help make them rich by running out and buying another iPad. I have a surprise for them though, I'm not that stupid. Also, your assumption that every person has some cheap Android phone is stupid. The Galaxy S6 at least the Edge model and the Plus and the Note all cost more than the iPhone. Yet I see plenty of people with them. I have yet to see one 6S in the wild, but useless its rose gold I couldn't tell anyways BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE LAST YEARS MODEL, unlike the Galaxy devices which all look different. I personally? I dont give a sh!t about sharing the same version number, I want the features too. The ipad mini is big enough and has good enough specs for splitview. WHY DONT I HAVE IT! WhyTF would I be jealous of your sh!tty under-power, under-featured phone? In order for your phoen to do EVERYTHING mine does out the box, you would need to download $150 worth for apps off the iTunes App Store and then Jailbreak for the rest.

Poor jealous pathetic iFans still running iOS8 or 9 or whatever laggy crashy sh!tty crapware that got on their welfare phones. There I fixed it for you. I guess IFans can't afford a real phone liek the S6 Edge/+ and Note 4/5 because the specs are to high for their minds to handle. You call can't handle Dual Quad CPU, 5/16MP w/1.9/OIS, you all cant handle 4GB of RAM, you can handle 2560x1440 super brilliant battery efficent AMOLED displays that ahve more accurate colors, you all can't handle UFS 2.0 which is basically a miniture SSD drive, you can't handle having a health monitor right on the phone. How do I know? iPhone Dualcore only, 1.2MP cameras on the iPhone 6, 8MP on iPhone 6 finally gettign to 12MP which we had on the S4 2 phone models ago, 750p/1080p displays which have the most washed out colors, slow storage, only 2GB of RAM finally, and to monitor your health you need to buy a whole separate device that costs 50% the cost of your phone, yet mine is included. Also, not everyone wants or needs a fancy phone. Enjoy your overpriced, underpower, under-featured, boring bendy, crashy, sh!tty, boring mid-raged spec'd phone.

Gosh you sound like a butt hurt whiny lil baby you know that? We get it, you hate Apple. Guess what....we do NOT care! Millions of other ppl do like Apple and enjoy their Apple products. Its their money, their choice so get over it and stop your stupid 5 page essay rants on how you don't like Apple. They are seriously old and obnoxious. Or in other words, GROW UP. Use what you want, and let other ppl use what they want without your annoying rants that don't make any bit of difference. I use an iPhone 6 Plus and i like it, i think its worth my money and thats all that matters. Its called choice, free will, ppl are free to choose what phone they want to use. Your ridiculous iHate for Apple is one of the most immature things I've ever seen.

I threw away a 6 Plus in favor of a Note 5. Better battery, camera, software, bigger & higher quality screen with a smaller body. Poor jealous ipoop owners with their laggy glitch-infested Gumby bendy phones. Fold it in half, toss it in the trash.

Sooooooo, because you arent having a problem means no one else is. Let me guess, since you dont have Cancer, that means no one else in the world doesnt have it either? Just because you dont get sick, does that mean no one else int he world get sick either? I am trying to understand this imply thing. APple has over 700M people using their iOS devices. So you as the ONE and ONLY person, represents all 699,999,999 other users? If you think so, then you are stupid. iOS9 lagging in search produced 67,000 hits. You can see all the links to sites talkign about it. Are they all making it up? Is PA making it up? What about these iOS users here -https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7218683?start=0&tstart=0 I guess they are all lying too? How about, where you are getting YOUR information. Oh wait, you're only going by YOUR own device usage. That is what makes you clowns so stupid. Nothing is ever a problem unless you have the problem too. You guys suck!

So far, all the iOS 8 issues seem to be gone, but my accelerometer did stick once, which would happen in iOS 8 from time to time. Great update, Apple brought it with this one. Now I'm just looking forward to Friday, or should I call it iDay.

Before I start, I am on YOUR side. The lockscreen bypasses don't matter unless you happen to lose your phone. You have to consider to many factors. First someone has to be in possession of your phone, then they have to be aware of the hack and perform it properly, which isnt going to be easy for everyone. They still can't activate, reset or do anything with it if you have Find My iPhone turned on. Seeing your naked photos and seeing contacts isn't even wealthy information. Every iOS version has had some type of lockscreen bypass. I dont even know who sists and randomly puts this all together and gets it to work. Also I am sure it isnt the only way to bypass the lockscreen. Ifans are gravely mislead into thinking Apple offers the best. yet them enjoy their boring, featuring-lacking, over-proceed mid-ranged spec'd phones and tablets. We already know the grass is green on this side, look at the marketshare.
