Apple Maps is down; if you need directions, use Google Maps for now (UPDATE)
If you're trying to get from point "A" to point "B" today and need directions, Apple Maps is not the way to go at this moment because the app is down. According to downdetector.com, 60% of those complaining say that Apple Maps is not providing them with any data, and 39% say that they can't open up the app. The issue is affecting all devices that support Apple Maps including the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

UPDATE: Apple has resolved the issue. Apple Maps is currently up and running.

Those trying to get directions using Apple Maps are receiving a message that reads, "Directions Not Available. Route information is not available at this moment." Luckily, we have a workaround. Install Google Maps on your iOS device (you'll find it on the App Store shelves next to the animal crackers).

Apple's System Status does show that there are issues with Maps-Routing and Navigation, and Maps-Search. Once Apple Maps is back up and running, we will update this story, so check in often.

Google Maps told me not once but TWICE that there is zero traffic on I91 southbound and twice I got stuck in 1.15 hours of traffic I could have avoided by taking the adjacent highway.....

If you have any concern about your location data being shared without your knowledge then don't use Google Maps ever, just saying.

Yeah, you're not exactly someone who is unbiased, as your name perfectly describes, so excuse me if i'm not going to believe your completely anecdotal evidence.

I'm totally biased using Google Maps, Google Photos, Google Authenticator, and Gmail. LOL. Moron

So anecdotal evidence to prove anecdotal evidence? Yeah, i don't think you understand the problem with your "evidence". I can also claim a bunch of things, and because you don't know me, you can't prove me wrong. I also can't prove any of it right. That's the problem with anecdotal evidence, and i'm sure you're completely aware of that. It's probably the reason you're using anecdotal evidence 24/7.

Lol this entire comment section is anecdotal. Get a grip lmfao! -Sent from my iPhone

It's really not, as there does exist things such as a real evidence. I have evidence from Displaymate that the Galaxy S9/S9+ has the best display that they have ever tested. I have model benchmarks done by a recent carrier comparison experiment, which showed the Galaxy S9/S9+ having superior connectivity to the IPhone X. Actual objective evidence and testing exists, unlike your subjective testing, which is heavily biased.

Thanks for letting me know your subjective love for Samsung lol. I would hope that is the case, since it is one of the newest phones to the market, the iPhone X already being nearly 1/2 year old lol. The Note 8 got smoked by the iPhone X with your objective screen tests, so there is that. Like I said, this entire website is flooded with anecdotal comments left right center, and to deny that is asinine in itself. Obviously, this denial is not shocking from a herdboy like yourself.

You can't judge a book by it's cover. That's so stupid. At least Apple Maps won't sell your location data to some cocky Chinese company without your consent.

That's what happens when you stroll around while leashed inside a cage. Drive around in a car while wearing a seat-belt, in simpler words. Just get a motorcycle and do some lane splitting! Traffic congestions won't worry you anymore! But remember that riding is not for the faint-hearted. It requires a lot of discipline, precision, courage and respect. "Disrespecting" your ride might lead to an early grave... I've had not one but FOUR crashes and have lost a beautiful Triumph Speed Triple 955 in the last one. Even a patient man like me can get a tad carried over! [Apologies for the irrelevant post. The rider in me leaped out!] G'Day!

You really ought to consider sticking with cars. You obviously suck at riding. I've been riding over 30 years and have never so much as laid my steed down.

Have you ever used Apple maps. They are much better now. I prefer Apple maps to Google maps most of the time. It's not 20, maybe it's 20 million or higher

Ah yes, the ever unbiased RevolutionA. I'm shocked you prefer an Apple service over an.... anything else service.
