Android 4.4.2 starts rolling out for Sony Xperia Z Ultra
The 6.4 inch Sony Xperia Z Ultra is receiving an OTA update on Monday, to Android 4.4.2. Those sporting the humungous device in Hong Kong will be the first to receive the update. While Android 4.4.2 will roll out to Xperia Z Ultra units located in other countries, there is no road map that suggests when these might occur.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra features a 6.4 inch TFT screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 which works out to a pixel density of 342ppi. A quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU is under the hood with the Adreno 330 GPU supporting graphics. 2GB of RAM is on board along with 16GB of native storage (11GB of which is available to users). A 64GB microSD slot is available for those that need additional storage and the back and front-facing camera weigh in at 8MP and2MP respectively. A 3050mAh battery keeps the lights on, and the super-sized phablet has IP 58 certification giving it some protection against water and dust.
