Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 to grace HTC Butterfly owners

Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 to grace HTC Butterfly owners
Butterfly owners, it appears that HTC has a treat for you! Engadget Chinese is reporting that an official Android 4.2.2 for one of the biggest handset yet to come from the Taiwanese company has begun its marathon. Like before, HTC honors tradition by first easing in the new update on its own turf and then slowly spreading the joy around the globe.

A Sense 5 skinned Android, as you probably guessed, is what's in store for you and it comes in two parts – a small update will prep your device and a second one will actually bring it up to speed. From what we can tell so far, among the new goodness you'll soon be getting your hands on appears to be Auto Focus/Auto Exposure additions to the camera, HTC's in-house content aggregation effort – BlinkFeed and Video Highlights, previously only available to HTC One owners.

As for those of you in the US, with an HTC Butterfly in hand – we're pretty sure it's coming, we just don't know when.

Well it look like the HTC Droid DNA owners will get Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5. So that is GREAT news. My HTC Droid DNA has been on Android 4.2.2 for months now thanks to root.

Sadly with Verizon that might be true. But hey at least Android 4.2.2 IS COMING. Let's shoot for late August - early September. lol +1

I'm not at all bitter about the 8 month wait for ICS on my phone. Nor the complete lack of a JB update. Not bitter at all. Totally gonna buy another HTC from Verizon.

I've considered it. Especially knowing there's an (unofficial) CM10 ROM out there for the Rezound. I'm not comfortable modding my phone though. As I view it, it's the manufacturer and carrier's responsibility to update phones. If I do it myself, they get off easy.

Rooting your phone WILL change your life. You will NEVER want OEM Stock again. TRUST ME!

Maybe if I still had months to go before my upgrade. At this point I'd rather just get the new phone.

I've had Sense 5 on my phone for months, same with Android 4.2.2 (now stock Android.) Thank God for root/ROMs or Verizon would be simply unbearable.

The bottom line is that HTC has always been Verizon's bitch. Even the so-called flagships have gotten screwed. TBolt, Rezound, Incredible 4G... Verizon leaves HTC customers hanging time and again. I'm looking at Motorola because they get a lot more love from VZW.
