Alleged Galaxy S9 clear case restates the fingerprint scanner move and the audio jack

A newly leaked clear case, allegedly destined for the Galaxy S9, is making the rounds, and it looks to be fitting like a glove around the CAD-based renders that appeared yesterday. Unfortunately, it also means that Samsung may indeed reserve the dual camera set as a Galaxy S9+ exclusive, as this case here shows too short of an opening on the back for it to house two lenses and a finger scanner. Speaking of, the case hints at a different, under-camera fingerprint reader placement, compared to the S8, just as most leaks so far have iterated, which is a welcome change.

Another welcome thing is the obvious presence of a standard headphone jack, and the rest of the side layout seems to mimic the buttons, mics and speaker openings of the Galaxy S8, which will likely be transferred over to the S9 as well. All in all, the Galaxy S9 may be an iterative upgrade, righting what was perceived as wrong with the S8, not that we expected some radical overhaul of Samsung's still-fresh Infinity Display design anyway.

3.5mm jack is awesome, it should stay at least for a couple more years till accessories start to catch up.

It should stay until something actually better all around is available to replace it. So far, nothing fits the bill...

Headphone jack shoud stay until something come up that doesn’t depend on battery to operate.

Maybe type C audio is the future. But in that case, I require a lot of choices AND 2 type C ports on phones.

I have the S8+, I might not upgrade to S9+ until FPS is under the screen. The Note9 might have it.

I don't think the companies expect you to upgrade every year too. 2-3 years now is perfectly good to upgrade. Personally, deciding what phone to buy is a bigger ordeal than to carry the current one for another year lol.

It might sound tempting but a FPS under the display is very impractical and harder to use than a traditional FPS. First of all, since it will be under the screen you will have to use visual ques to place your finger on the right part of the screen for a scan, of course an all screen scanner can be used but it would be too expensive and a lot harder to incorporate (note than companies can't even embed a small FPS under the display) and it would take a lot of time to embed a FPS panel the size of the screen which is a lot impractical since it doesn't make sense to ditch a cheap hardware button for a much expensive and harder to manufacture all screen FPS. Facial Recognition is the future, it was introduced by Samsung and improved exponentially by Apple. Samsung next phone will speak loudly for this stance.

I'd like to see that hole on the top as an IR blaster placement
