AT&T Wireless Launches Voice-Activated Dialing Service
#121 VoiceDial allows customers to store multiple numbers for as many as five hundred contacts enabling them to reach people whether at work, at home or on the go. After signing-up for the service, customers simply go to www.attwireless.com/voicedial to enter their contacts into a personalized address book, or they can dial "#121" on their wireless phones to add contact information right through their phones. In the coming months, the service will allow customers to import contact lists from popular desktop applications like Microsoft Outlook® and Lotus Notes®. The new service also allows customers to call a number simply by saying the number, such as "Call 999-555-1212."
"Almost everyone has more than one phone number in today's mobile society which means that we have more contact numbers to track than ever before," said Deepak Dhawan, vice president of In-Vehicle Services at AT&T Wireless Mobile Multimedia Services. "Now, thanks to #121 VoiceDial, our customers only need to remember one number to connect to anyone they really care about. And, it's remarkably easy since they can now reach these people simply by speaking their names into their wireless phones."
