ABC News calls Apple's event tomorrow "historic"

ABC News calls Apple's event tomorrow
ABC News has been teasing Tuesday's "historic" Apple announcement. With a breathless voice-over announcer discussing "the invite from Apple sent 'round the world," the network has been teasing a report that will be shown on ABC's World News Tonight on Tuesday. Reporter David Muir, who has interviewed Apple CEO Tim Cook in the past, has been given permission by Apple to hang with the big boys during tomorrow's Apple event. The result should be a fascinating look at how Apple handles new product introductions, and could even include some interviews with top Apple executives.

However, by the time ABC's World News Tonight is aired, it will be 6pm ET, five hours after the 1pm ET start of the festivities, By the time Muir's report is broadcast, Apple's announcements will be old news.

That is why we humbly suggest that you come right here for all of your Apple news on Tuesday. We will posting a live-blog of the keynote, and once Apple has finished with all of the introductions, we will be covering the reactions to whatever Apple unveils. Tomorrow's event will be full of excitement as we expect to hear Apple make the 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6 official. We also could see the 5.5 inch Apple iPhone phablet introduced, along with the long rumored Apple iWatch. And don't forget the possible unveiling of the Apple iPad Air 2 and the revamped Apple iPad mini with Retina display.

What is historic about a cell phone that comes out every year with little improvements? I'm not even bashing Apple or the iPhone here, I can say that about any cell phone. Lay off the koolaid ABC News.

The first iPhone launch was historic, this is just new features and specs. It happens every year with every phone series. To call this historic waters down the meaning of the word. On a side note, can we please kill the use of the word hater with fire. It's right up there with troll. Just because there is a difference of opinion, it doesn't have to mean that a person is biased against it. And even if they are, just because they don't share someone else's opinion, it doesn't mean their opinion isn't valid. Using words like that, IMO, means their opinions are seems invalid. If that happens, then anyone's opinions can be invalidated as well. But just because you don't agree with them, it doesn't mean they can't have valid misgivings, it simply means you don't agree with them.

Yeah, "historic" might be a vaguely accurate term to describe the original iPhone. Even that feels like a stretch. And if this is historic? Christ, we need to rethink our priorities.

Hey, watch it buddy. Apple is SUPER good at the historic. Remember the time Apple proclaimed that we'd never forget when the Beatles' music was made available on iTunes? Well, that day was... crap, I did forget... you win I guess.

It's called an iwatch dude. You are simply to focused on the phone. Sure your going to say there are already smart watches out there. Well, so was smart phones and MP3 players. This is Apple, not Spamsung.

Bigtime, especially since they're in last place: in everything. They don't even have real news anymore; it's like the network version of MTV, a music video channel without music videos. ABC = American B*ll$h¡† Company

Its abc news its not like they are real journalist's its not any real news is going on. What's bigger to the American people apple has a new iphone announced wow lets get the news on it so we can have people watch us for once. Stupid news outlets they are all so fake and should all be taken off air and real news be announced

It's historic for the iCrowd which usually gets nothing and has to wax lyrical about getting shafted usually. Watch as everything including the iPhone 5c is crippled with iOS 8 (and magically fixed in January) while the iPhone 6/plus release with the lowest expected specs/features possible from all the rumors combined. It will still be historic because if you repeat a lie enough times, people will start believing it.

seriously iAbc and other news broadcasters needs to get a life or stop eating so many apples. there is nothing historic about this company. They think Apple created and invented everything.

100% agree. I love technology. I have all my friends old phones and ipods etc. but to call this "historic" is stupid. As VZWUser76 said, it does water down the meaning of the word. I can see why a society driven way too much by media (America) loves it's American company (Apple) more than the rest (LG, Samsung, HTC, etc.) but to call it historic is ruining the word. We have smartphones already. We have tablets already. We have smartwatches already. Unless they can come out with a piece of technology COMPLETELY new then I would never call any product announcement "historic"
