A new Focus app lands to replace your aging Android picture gallery
Android's stock gallery was greatly improved with the latest versions of Google's mobile OS, yet is still a somewhat clunky affair, compared to the best that some manufacturer overlays and third party apps are now offering. There is a new entrant in this category, called Focus, and it comes with a strong intention to beat them all gallery apps to the punch.
Focus has everything that a good gallery app should offer, like categorizing photos your own way, image editing tools, and easy search function, but adds a few plot twists of its own, such as tag organizer, night view mode, and the so-called "big picture" mode. It removes the editing tools from the screen when you enlarge the photo, so that the whole screen is taken by the image and image only.
There are also two ways to look at the picture's details - a basic mode, and an advanced one that lists every granular thingy about it, easily switched to from the detail screen itself. Check out the Focus presentation in the video below, and take it for a spin from the link below, if you like what you see.
