A Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-order gets you a $50 Google Play promo code at U.S. Cellular

AT&T isn’t the only North American carrier that will accept pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S5 starting March 21. U.S. Cellular announced that it, too, will allow customers to pre-order the new handset come tomorrow. Just like AT&T, U.S. Cellular is asking $199.99 for the Galaxy S5 on contract, and it will have two color versions at launch: Charcoal Black and Shimmery White.

The new Galaxy smartphone will be available at U.S. Cellular on April 11 - when it will likely also be released by AT&T. The Samsung Gear 2, Samsung Gear 2 Neo and Samsung Gear Fit will also be available that day. U.S. Cellular is throwing in a $50 Google Play promotional code for all customers who will pre-order the S5 online.

We’re assuming that Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile are also getting ready to start taking pre-orders for the S5 later this month.

As you may know, the Galaxy S5 is Samsung's first smartphone to come with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, a built-in heart rate monitor, and a fingerprint scanner. Other features include a dust- and water-resistant case, Android 4.4. KitKat, LTE connectivity, 16MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal memory, and a 2,800 mAh battery.

Now that the age of "band aid" trolls are over, the actual phone looks classy actually. The Samsung made render is the ugly part of the S5.

First, stop trolling, you're a big kid now. Go home. Second, try making shiny plastic with leather feeling to it. Oh with a golf ball design.

Hell, I think if your *buying* any android phone over $500 you should get an automatic $25 Google Play card by default. Googles farking rich enough for that.

I think its a Sammy spell. At first you absolutely want to throw up at the design. A few weeks later... I don't know how to explain it but it's STRANGELY ATTRACTIVE.

Exactly. That was my same reaction when the S3 was revealed, but as soon as I saw it live I got it immediately. Same with last year's S4. But it is a different story with the Note 3 and S5, I liked them since day one.
